Sheboygan Surgery Center– Appoints Therese Belanger Clinical Coordinator [Sheboygan, WI. July 2, 2009]

Sheboygan Surgery Center is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Therese Belanger as its Clinical Coordinator. “Therese’s skills, both clinically and personally, lend themselves perfectly for this role. She has natural leadership qualities with a focus on service excellence. She will lead our team of dedicated nurses and OR technicians who provide compassionate quality care to our patients,” said Sara M. McCallum, RN, MBA, CASC, Administrative Director, Sheboygan Surgery Center.

In her role as Clinical Coordinator Belanger is responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations of the Sheboygan Surgery Center within the authority of the governing board. Her management role includes planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, and staff utilization.

Belanger graduated from Viterbo University in LaCrosse, WI earning her Bachelor’s in Science in Nursing (BSN). Prior to joining the Sheboygan Surgery Center she was employed by St. Nicholas Hospital in Home Health Care, as a staff nurse, and in Outpatient Surgery. She was one of the first employees of Sheboygan Surgery Center. She lives in Sheboygan with her husband, John and their three children.

Sheboygan Surgery Center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC/Accreditation Association). This accreditation distinguishes the Sheboygan Surgery Center from many other outpatient surgical facilities by providing a safe work environment and the highest quality of care to patients. Status as an accredited organization means Sheboygan Surgery Center has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care, set by the Accreditation Association.

Sheboygan Surgery Center is Sheboygan County’s first multi-specialty freestanding surgery center located at 3141 Saemann Avenue in Sheboygan. It is owned in partnership by eight Sheboygan area surgeons and St. Nicholas Hospital. The Center opened its doors to its first patients on July 28, 2008. Together these partners are revolutionizing the manner in which outpatient surgery is performed.
